Utthara Unni is a celebrated Bharatanatyam dancer from Kerala, India. She has performed at prestigious festivals such as Natyanjali in Chidambaram, Kumbakonam, and Thanjavur. In addition to her dancing career, Utthara is a filmmaker and singer. She made her directorial debut with the short film “Randaam Varavu,” which won her five awards for best direction. She has also directed other short films and music videos. As an actress, she has appeared in Tamil and Malayalam films, including “Vavval Pasanga” and “Edavappathy”. Her performance in “Edavappathy” earned her critical acclaim and the Kerala Film Critics Association Award for the best upcoming actor.

Born in Thiruvalla, Kerala, she is the daughter of Ankarath Ramanunni and renowned actress Urmila Unni. Her upbringing in a culturally rich environment has greatly influenced her artistic journey. Utthara is married to businessman Nithesh S Nair and they have a daughter named Dheemahee.

Education

She holds a B.Sc. in Visual Communication from SRM University and is pursuing a master's in communication at MOP Vaishnav College for Women. She is also working towards a second degree in B.F.A. Bharatanatyam at Sastra University.
